Safety & BSI Kitemark

Vehicles are increasingly challenging to repair as high strength steel, boron, aluminium and carbon become commonplace in modern vehicle body design. Laser welding techniques and structural bonding combined with a surprising amount of systems designed to keep you safe all need to be replicated using the correct tooling and skills. Incorrect welding can destroy the safety features of a vehicle and a subsequent accident could prove devastating. Choosing a repairer on price only could seriously harm your future safety.

What is the Kitemark and why is it important?

The Kitemark is the UKs most trusted symbol of quality and safety. In body repair terms the Kitemark applies to PAS 125 a Publicly Available Standard which is audited by the British Standards Institute. At least two unannounced audits take place each year and cover 5 key elements: Are the technicians suitably skilled, are they using the appropriate repair method for each vehicle, do they have the correct equipment and materials? Finally is the management system in place robust enough to ensure the consistent quality and safety of repairs? The Kitemark gives you reassurance that the crash repair is in expert hands and you can trust that your car will be returned to its pre-accident safety specification.
